Sir Christopher Cox  (1899 - 1982)

1924         First exploratory visit, with William Calder and William Buckler, to Central Phrygia and the Tembris Valley
1925         Second expedition to Phrygia, with John R. Cullen, to the area west of Cotiaeum
1926         Third expedition to Phrygia, with Archibald Cameron, southwards towards Appia, and the Upper Tembris Valley
1931         Fourth expedition to Phrygia, with Archibald Cameron, to territories in the Eskisehir vilayet.
1935         Expedition to Iran as part of a group that included John Cullen, "the Butler family, D.P.R., C.F.T." and guides
1937         Cox became involved in the development of educational practices in colonial Africa, continued until his retirement in 1969.

Michael Ballance  (1928 - 2006)

1949         Michael Ballance began his explorations and surveys, visiting North Africa and Italy
1953-4         His first surveys of Turkey, travelling extensively throughout Western parts of the country
1954         Michael Ballance took part in an excavation on the island of Chios
1955         His first major epigraphical survey of Phrygia
1956         Second major epigraphical survey of Phrygia
1957         Third major epigraphical survey of Phrygia
1958         Michael Ballance joined a British excavation team at Dağ Pazari in South-western Turkey        
1961-94         Numerous subsequent expeditions throughout western Turkey, North Africa, and Europe
